Robert Schumann
(1810-1856)
String Quartet Opus 41 No. 3
During the Spring of 1842, Schumann is far from his spouse Clara, gone to a first tour as a piano player. Between the months of June and July, his 3 magnificent String Quartets will spring from his solitary reflexions and studies. This 3rd was composed in only 2 weeks. One understands the answer to Mendelssohn in front of the Schumann’s thanks: “But, Schumann, and the Quartets!” |
