The myth of Orfeo, who wants to bring her beloved Euridice back from the land of Death by his charming song, was often taken up in the history of opera. This version, composed in 1762, proves once more that the greatest victory is achieved on oneself. But milder, it offers a second chance to Orfeo… and Euridice.
