Joseph Haydn
(1732-1809)

Cello Concerto, Ho VIIb:2

Haydn was a prolific composer who combined delicacy with majesty. His work represents the major piece of the classical period. Influenced by C. P. E. Bach, he was a master and a model for Mozart and Beethoven.
