Robert Schumann
(1810-1856)
Davidsbündlertänze, Opus 6 No. 14
The first edition (1838) of this volume had the mention “Characteristic Pieces, by Florestan and Eusebius”. Each of the 18 pieces was signed with an initial (even with both) indicating the dual aspect of the composer : Florestan, the valiant knight and Eusebius, the sentimental dreamer. “Tender and lilting” was indicated for this dance composed by Eusebius. |
