The Grands Motets by Mondonville were so successful with the public of Paris that they overshadowed those by de Lalande and Rameau. Dominus regnavit decorem, published in Lille in 1734, is the first one. Its storm movement, which describes the rising floods in the psalm 92, sweeps everything in its wake.
