Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
(1756-1791)

Requiem, K 626

By means of a mysterious servant, the Count Walsegg ordered to Mozart a Requiem in memory of his wife. He amply paid him to preserve the secrecy of this composition. Maybe did he want to appropriate the Requiem fatherhood. But the Death, taking Mozart before the end of this ultimate composition, broke the agreement and gave to this work, miraculously kept by Mozart’s pupil Süssmayr, the destiny of a myth.
