The Mass in Eb major is the last of the 6 latin Masses that Schubert composed. His devotion to the catholic dogmas had some limits concretized by the omission of several passages of the liturgical text, in particular passages relating to the Christ Son of God or to the Resurrection. This sumptuous fervour remains.
