The Concerto

1600 - 1760: the baroque concerti sing with such an evidence that their timeless melodies go straight to one’s heart.
1760 - 1830: from the romantic period, the concertos place more distinctly the virtuoso soloist (sometimes even the composer himself) opposite to the orchestra.
1830 - 1900: romanticism and neo-classicism offer their most famous and most recorded pages.
