Felix Mendelssohn
(1809-1847)
Piano Quartet, Opus 3
Felix Mendelssohn enjoyed a material comfort that his father, a banker by trade, could offer him, among others in the form of a private chamber orchestra. This probably contributed to wrongly present him as a society composer. His talent was as immense as precocious. This 3rd piano quartet, a formation already used twice by Mozart, was composed at the beginning of the year 1825. |
