This majestic Arianna’s complaint, published in 1741, is a virtuoso violonist’s work who devoted himself exclusively to the instrumental music. His playing was so fiery that one compared it with the playing of a “devil”, in opposition to the “angel” playing of Leclair, with whom he played in duo.
